A special Flaxmill Friday for the launch night of ‘Special Exhibition – Shrewsbury’s Canal Heritage’ which is opening in The Dye House opposite us at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings
More about this Flaxmill Friday at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings:
“With the upcoming focus on the Shrewsbury to Newport Canal, Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings is delighted to welcome two unique bands.
The Shropshire Boatmen are a five strong band who specialise in the shanty style of singing, both sea shanties and canal songs, including their self-penned work.
Mice in a Matchbox, a lively acoustic duo who take traditional and modern folk tunes and some classic well known favourites, as well as original material, and deliver them with their own foot tapping arrangements.
Turned Wood Café will be serving their evening menu including alcoholic beverages from 5pm.
The bands will be performing live in Turned Wood Café from 7pm to 9pm.
You can also visit The Mill exhibition free of charge from 7pm to 8pm. Learn all about the internationally significant site, the building that launched a thousand skylines.”
This is not a ticketed event, nor do we take table reservations. All are welcome; first come, first served (to remain fair to all!)
